Privacy Policy

How the Traveling Man app handles your data — and why the answer is: it doesn't.

Plain-language summary

Traveling Man collects no personal data. Your location is used on-device to calculate prayer times and is never transmitted to any server. There are no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs in the app. No account is required. Nothing leaves your iPhone.

1. Who We Are

Winglet LLC is an independent software company based in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, United States. This privacy policy applies to the Traveling Man iOS application (bundle ID: co.winglet.hilal), available on the Apple App Store.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

Traveling Man does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

  • Your name, email address, or any contact information
  • Your GPS coordinates, city, or any location data — on any server
  • Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, serial number)
  • Crash reports or diagnostic data sent to third parties
  • Usage analytics or behavioral data
  • Any data derived from interactions with the app

The app contains no third-party SDKs of any kind — no analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting libraries are included.

3. Location — On Device Only

Traveling Man requests access to your device location (via CoreLocation) for one purpose only: to calculate accurate prayer times for your position. This calculation is performed entirely on your iPhone using mathematical formulas. Your coordinates are never transmitted to any server, never stored outside the app's local sandbox, and never shared with any third party.

You can alternatively enter a city name manually in Settings, in which case no location permission is needed at all.

The system-level location permission prompt will say "While Using the App." The app will never request "Always" location access. Background location is not used.

4. Local Storage

The app stores your settings (calculation method, Asr school, notification preferences, manually entered city) in Apple's UserDefaults on your device. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to Winglet LLC or any third party.

Widget data is shared with the widget extension via an App Group (group.co.winglet.hilal), which is also stored locally on your device only.

5. Notifications

Prayer time notifications are scheduled and delivered locally by your iPhone using Apple's UserNotifications framework. No push notification server is used. Winglet LLC has no visibility into whether notifications are delivered or acted upon.

6. No Third-Party Services

Traveling Man does not integrate with or transmit data to any third-party service, including:

  • Analytics platforms (e.g. Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude)
  • Advertising networks
  • Attribution services (e.g. AppsFlyer, Adjust)
  • Crash reporting services (e.g. Crashlytics, Sentry)
  • Social media SDKs

7. Apple Platform Data

Apple may collect certain diagnostic and usage data as part of iOS and the App Store, subject to your device privacy settings and your agreement to Apple's terms. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and is outside Winglet LLC's control or access.

If you have enabled "Share with App Developers" in your iPhone's Privacy & Security settings, Apple may forward aggregated, anonymized crash reports to us via Xcode Organizer. These reports do not include any personal information and cannot be used to identify you.

8. Children's Privacy

Traveling Man does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13 (or applicable local age threshold). Because the app collects no personal data from any user, it is appropriate for all ages. The app is rated 4+ on the App Store.

9. Your Rights

Because Traveling Man collects no personal data, there is generally no data held by Winglet LLC for you to access, correct, or delete. However, you have the right to:

  • Ask whether any data about you is held — and receive a response within 30 days
  • Request deletion of any data you believe we may hold
  • Withdraw any previously granted iOS permissions (location, notifications) at any time via Settings › Privacy & Security on your iPhone

10. California Residents (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. Traveling Man does not collect, sell, or share any personal information. No action is required to opt out, as there is nothing to opt out of.

11. EU / UK Residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

The General Data Protection Regulation and UK GDPR grant individuals specific rights regarding personal data. Traveling Man processes no personal data. No legal basis for processing is required because no processing occurs. The rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, and objection apply where personal data is processed — none of which applies here. 12. Data Breaches

Because Traveling Man holds no user data on any server, there is no data at risk of being compromised in a breach on our end. All data remains on your device, under your control, protected by iOS's own security model.

13. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy — for example, if a future version of the app introduces features that handle data differently — we will update the effective date at the top of this page and note the change in the App Store release notes.
